to the website of Philippine Biosafety &
Biosecurity Association Inc., PhBBA was created by a
multi-disciplinary team, including members from health care, academia,
emergency response, pharmaceutical/biotech, as well as from the
executive, legislative and judicial branches of the government. The
membership of PhBBA also includes members of the steering committee and
technical working groups of the National Laboratory Biosafety and
Biosecurity Action Plan Task Force, which created as per DPO No. 2006-2500
dated September 15, 2006. A long term goal of the association is to
assist the Department of Health and Agriculture in their efforts to
create a national policy and implementation plan for laboratory
biosafety and biosecurity.

PhBBA
will organize regional one-day seminars over the course of two
years to raise awareness of Laboratory Biosafety and Biosecurity
Practices throughout the Philippines.
Consultative
Meetings to work towards PhBBSA long-term goals
PhBBA will meet regularly 2x/ a month over two years, either in person
or via teleconference, to discuss how to accomplish the organization's
long term goals.
